iPhone alarm labels

After getting to sleep in all summer, waking up early this week for class has been a little bit of a reality check. I am so not a morning person—I need a hot shower and coffee before my brain starts working.

And what better to help me wake up than a funny iPhone alarm label like this one?

via
I had seen these on Pinterest and Tumblr before, but I never took the time to actually figure out how to set one on my own phone. Ready to learn how to make one?

First, go to the clock app, then the alarm tab.

Next, click the "+" in the top corner to create a new alarm (or just edit an existing alarm).

Finally, go to "label"and write your future sleepy self a nice little message to wake up to.

For example, something like this would apply to me:

So now when I have to wake up at 6:30 every morning, I can feel a little bit better about my situation. At least I'm not Britney Spears circa 2007.

Friends, things could always be worse.

Tumblr obsessed

I admit, I'm late on joining the Tumblr bandwagon. I've always enjoyed looking at other people's Tumblr pages, but I never thought/wanted to make one for myself.

Well, I caved. And there goes my productivity for the semester.

It's still in its early stages, but here it is. Ta da!

I'd love hearing suggestions about any interesting or funny pages I should follow.

See ya later summer

Today is the last Friday of summer vacation for me (maybe even forever if/when I get a job after graduation). Yikes.

In order to cheer myself up, I went to Target and bought shoes. Yes, I'm one of those people who thinks buying things makes them feel better. Let's not kid around — it does make me feel better.

Here are the two new pairs of shoes that are currently cheering me up:

via
First of all, I love an animal print. Second of all, I love shoes that only cost $20. So naturally, I was sold. I'm jumping on the loafers-are-hot-for-fall bandwagon, and I can't wait to wear these bad boys.

(Side note: They are a little stiff and probably need to be broken in before they're worn for a full day. Otherwise, you'll probably end up with a heel full of blisters, and no one wants that. Right now, I'm wearing them in my house with a thick pair of socks to break them in (which is quite a sight to see). I may even use my Dr. Scholl's For Her Rub Relief Strips for these. I'm a huge fan of these strips — just stick 'em on the part of the shoe that's rubbing your foot and voila, no more blisters.)

These may be the most comfortable heels/"shooties" I've ever owned. I could walk for miles in these, no Dr. Scholl's required. I have a pair of black heels that are similar to these, and they're a staple in my winter wardrobe. This taupe pair is the perfect partner to those heels and I'm so excited to wear them this fall.

WIshful Wednesday

I'm not sure about you guys, but I'm so ready for fall. Not necessarily for classes to begin and for my social life to vanish, but for the crisp, cool weather, reinstating and updating my fall wardrobe, and most of all, Starbucks' pumpkin spice lattes.

In that spirit, here's what I'm loving this week:

My friend and college roommate Kelly blogs over at the pencil jar, and you should all go check it out! She is a such talented artist and uses her own illustrations in her blog posts.

Kelly's illustration below is of a cute bubble umbrella from Urban Outfitters and a pair of jade green Hunter rain boots.

Keep up the great posts and adorable illustrations Kel!

Latest obsession: JEWELIQ

I first found out about JEWELIQ from a fellow blogger's giveaway. I sadly didn't win, but I fell in love with the jewelry on the site and had to buy something from them.

I chose the mango bauble necklace, and I absolutely love it. It looks just like the $80 J. Crew version, but for $25, it was such a steal. (Everything from JEWELIQ is always under $25, including shipping!)

I wore it last night (dress from TJ Maxx) to the Luke Bryan concert and got so many compliments!

But this was my favorite part about buying from JEWELIQ:

What a sweet note! Little things like this really make a difference when buying things online. I will definitely be getting more items from JEWELIQ in the future.

(I wasn't compensated in any way from JEWELIQ for this post. I just wanted to spread the word about how awesome they are!)

Guest Post: Must-have shoes for fall

Hi guys! I'm Elizabeth and I blog over at Obsession. If you love fashion and want to know where to find some great products, come check me out (you literally can, there are photos of me all over the blog). While my BFF Megan is livin' it up at the beach, I'm here today to tell you some fall must-haves for your feet.

Megan and me at graduation. I picked out her dress, and she looks amazing,
so that's how you know you can trust my fashion advice!

First up, ankle straps.

On the runway at Valentino.

Ankle straps make legs look longer and leaner, which we can all agree is a great thing. I'm loving these red pumps at Valentino, and the color is perfect for fall. For an affordable option, try this pair from ASOS, and wear them with rolled up boyfriend jeans and a cozy sweater. They even have a cute metallic heel, which is on point with our next trend.

ASOS

Metallic gold pumps.

On the runway at Prabal Gurung.

I can hardly breathe over those Nicholas Kirkwood for Prabal Gurung heels, they're so fabulous. The gold is such a big statement, so make sure to keep the rest of the look clean and simple. Pair your gold pumps with a black skirt and white blouse and keep jewelry to a minimum. Try these pumps from Guess for a more budget-friendly option.

Guess

Statement boots.

On the runway at Pucci.

Last season was all about the ankle boot (or bootie), but knee-length is making a comeback this season. Change things up from the traditional brown or black riding boot, and go for bolder colors and unique textures. These boots from Target won't break the bank and would look great over a pair of skinny jeans or with a knee length skirt.

Target

Happy shopping, blog friends!

eos shave cream

{product of the week}

eos shave cream

via

This stuff is seriously amazing. I bought the Pomegranate Raspberry kind on a whim at Target before my vacation, and I'm so glad I scooped it up. I love the eos lip balm, so I really hoped this shaving cream wouldn't let me down.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a pump top on this shaving cream. It makes it so much easier to control how much of the product you use compared to usual shaving cream dispensers. And the smell is divine, too. I can't wait to try the vanilla kind next.

The next reason I like it is because of the consistency. It's not like a normal shaving cream that lathers; it's more like a silky lotion, which is really nice.

The next thing I want to try is the eos hand lotion.
via

I'm really picky about what kind of hand lotions I use — it can't be too greasy or too lightweight. Hopefully this cucumber-scented lotion smells and works as well as this shave cream. Has anyone tried it yet?
